But now I’ve got a real one to work with! It doesn’t work AT ALL like I think it should, but it is a start.

This gallery is a little different in that it is also published in it’s entirety on my flickr account; the rest of my pictures will have a full gallery here and a few select shots on flickr.

(BTW – the Flickr acct isn’t finished b/c I was getting errors with the uploader, but that should be fixed soon)

Be expecting a good deal of photos in the coming weeks as I am now 11 months behind in posting and want to catch up. Also, please let me know what you think of the shots. If you hate them, say so – I will not get to be a better photographer if I only have my feedback to work with.

I will say, I think this crimson poppy is a real standout in this set; Matt and I picked the perfect time to go to the Winchester Mystery House…

End of Days…for my bet, that is

Hi folks! I have fulfilled my bet terms – 14 days of blogging, with only one false start This does not mean, of course, that I have stopped blogging, but only that I am finished being required to blog every every day.

While I have been jokingly chafing at the bit about this requirement, I have really enjoyed sharing my thoughts with all of you, and have loved the reactions and support that y’all have given me. I’ll try to keep up a steady update schedule, better than I have been, certainly. I think that if I’ve learned anything, it’s that I should put my thoughts to paper rather than waiting for something to come up first.

That being said, I didn’t do much today. I got up late, chatted for a bit with folks before our out of town guests had to leave. we had some birthday cake (sugar free pineapple upside down cake from Mr. Natural) and then took the birthday boy to Comp USA and wandered around in there for a while. I had to get a micro SD card for my BlackBerry, and I ended up getting a bluetooth headset for the same. The card slots in the BB are tricky, so it took me a while to get the bloody thing to seat correctly, and, in the process, I knocked the SIM card out twice.

Now I’m just chilling out and watching 24. The bluetooth is set up, the micro-SD card is in, my tummy is full, and all is well with the world. I think I’m going to curl up with the kitty for a while and then probably fall asleep again for a long while. I actually have the day off tomorrow, and I really don’t need the sleep, but it’ll be so dreamy to snooze the day away….

Day 13 – nothing going on, but no time to do it in

I feel like I’ve been running ragged all day, but have gotten very little done.

Truthfully, I’ve gotten a lot done. I went to work @ my Saturday job. Then I went to the coffee shop twice, stopped by Jade’s work, picked up a friend @ the house, and ate lunch. After that, it was off to the regular job for a few minutes, then off to pick up Jade’s birthday cake. Finally, I got to go home for a few minutes, before heading on out to dinner @ the Greek Pita House in Pflugerville.

Now I get to relax finally, secure in the knowledge that I have only one day more of this blogging every day Love you, Matt!!!

I just hate having to do this when I have nothing to say. However I’ve enjoyed the exercise; I don’t want y’all to think that I’m bitter about this.

Anyway, have a big day again tomorrow, so I’ll let you know what what’s going on. Talk to you soon!!

Say What? Day 11

I only have to remember to do this for 3 more days. Not that I mind chatting with you guys, but I can barely remember to but one foot in front of the other with any semblance of grace, much less to write a coherent post every day before midnight. (especially while trying to watch 24)

That being said, I had a very busy, if very uneventful day. I spent a lot of time coordinating the moving of various parts of my office and cleaning adhesive off of windows, desks and overhead cabinets. It all became super fun when the adhesive remover started melting the plastic knife that I was using.

I am looking forward to this weekend though, as I get to see some folks that I haven’t gotten to see in a while. Also, it’s Jade’s birthday party, so I get to give him his presents. I really love watching people open presents that I’ve picked up for them. I have a lot of fun picking things out for my friends and family, so it’s kind of like another present to me when they open them.

I’m only sorry that I wasn’t there where Matt opened his birthday presents this year. Mom said that she talked to him for a good while today (or yesterday?) and he said that he was really exited about them. I only got a quick IM conversation with him in which he was telling me how much he enjoyed them. Poor guy had to run directly to a meetup directly after I talked to him, so we didn’t get to chat for very long.

Well, I’m going to go go and turn my attention to the show again. I don’t want to miss Jack kick all these people’s asses…

Oh wait! I forgot to tell you that I saw a funny away message today: “When Jack Bauer files his taxes, he has to claim the whole world as dependents” Have a good one!!! XXOOXX

Day 5

Well, I couldn’t miss blogging today, no matter how busy I am – it’s Matt’s birthday!!!!! Yay!!!! I wish you all the happiness that this year can possibly bring you, my darling brother – and that your dreams come to fruition as well!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now call me, brat!

Ok, I think that I’ve actually reached my quota for exclamation points today. On to other stuff before I wear you guys out.

I made it to Katy safe and sound this morning. I managed to hang with Daddy a bit, and then ran over to the mechanics shop and sat for several hours. My breaks were making a really loud squeak in the back. They took everything apart, and put it back together all over again, and declared nothing wrong. Apparently the old pads used to be made of asbestos, then someone decided that this was bad for the environment (much to the annoyance of every mechanic that I’ve talked to), so the auto parts industry has been experimenting with new materials – none of which seem to be as quiet or to work as well as the asbestos one. That’s really frustrating, but understandable; I don’t want to negatively impact the environment any more than I already do, but I must admit that the squeak is loud enough to be very embarrassing, and I’m so tired of every male I know telling me to get it fixed – which is just because they care about me and my well being, so I guess I should really say that I’m tired of explaining over and over that yes, I really did take the car to several mechanics about this, and that they all really did say it was fine.

I’m not wasting my money on it anymore, so I guess that I’ll just script out the explanation

I was there a good deal of time, but I scarcely noticed it. I’ve been sucked in by the highly addictive novel by Stephanie Meyer – Twilight. It’s really good!!! I can’t believe that I got tricked into reading it, but it *is* really good. Oops – used exclamation points again. Damn….

Well, I’ve stolen my Mom’s Mac to write this, so I’d better give it back (I had forgotten that I was on a Mac and was wondering why my copy and paste shortcuts weren’t working – d’oh!). She hadn’t read my pillow post yet, so I actually had sat down to just pull up the page, but then I realized that I hadn’t posted today, and I probably should just in case SOMEBODY actually decides to call me and ask me if I’ve lived up to my promise (or in case Donncha is checking on me again ) TGIF, y’all!

Egg on Face…

As Donncha pointed out in the here (see comments), I’ve got egg on my face. I had lost a bet – more to the point, a Monopoly game (not for the first time) – and I have not lived up to either of my obligations from that. First I was supposed to post pictures of Matthew kicking my butt in the game, and then I was supposed to blog every day for two weeks.

So, I’m trying again. Here is the first of the two weeks of posts. I’m also going to put reminders on my calendar to keep this up. We’ll see if I can do it. Of course, I’m the world’s worst blogger now, so there’s no way to go but up, right?

Update: somehow I managed to trackback myself twice…that’s interesting…

Update, part 2: Donncha – as a fellow Stargate SG-1 fan, I thought I’d let you know that there’s finally a release date of March 11th for the Ark of Truth. It says it’s for all regions, but I’d check on that.
